Jose Borrego Preparatory Academy is proud to celebrate our 8th Grade Science teacher, Mr. Garza, for being awarded a grant from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and Estes Education!
This incredible opportunity will allow us to launch a hands-on rocketry program that deepens our students’ understanding of physics, aeronautics, and real-world STEM applications. Our 8th graders will now get to experience the excitement of designing, building, and launching rockets as they explore the science behind flight.

🌿 JBPA 6th Grade Exploring Science in the Real World! 🌿
Our 6th graders from Jose Borrego Preparatory Academy had an amazing educational field trip to the East Foundation Ranch! Students experienced hands-on learning perfectly aligned with our Science TEKS, diving into topics such as ecosystems, wildlife, conservation, and the natural resources that shape our environment.
This outdoor learning opportunity brought science to life and helped our students make real-world connections beyond the classroom. We’re proud of their curiosity, teamwork, and Blue Devil spirit! 💙⚡

Mr. Garza’s 8th grade science students recently concluded their exciting journey with Algae Academy — a hands-on STEM experience that opened their eyes to the incredible world of algae and its role in the booming bio-industry!🌱⚗️
Students explored how algae can be used to produce sustainable energy, reduce carbon emissions, and even serve as a future food source. They also had the opportunity to observe microscopic organisms up close, connecting classroom learning to real-world environmental solutions. 🔬🌎

Out of many applicants nationwide, our school is one of only 41 schools chosen to partner with this innovative program. Through the Algae Academy kits, our students will dive into hands-on experiments to grow and study algae, exploring how this amazing organism can help combat climate change, produce oxygen, and even serve as a future renewable energy source. 🌎💧
